Storage and safety
- Mixing releases toxic chlorine gas, even with ordinary household cleaners.
- Store in opaque, closed plastic containers in a cool place away from the sun.
- It is corrosive to skin and eyes and ruins clothes: use gloves and safety goggles.
- Use it within a few months of receiving it so it keeps its strength.
To make household bleach of about 5%: mix 4 parts of the solution with 6 parts of water, and add the solution to the water, not the other way round.
